Marbella is Happy!

“It might seem crazy what I’m about to say; sunshine she’s here, you can take a break… because I’m happy…”

Marbella is alive with the sound of Happy! Pharrell Williams’ massive 2013 hit song has had people dancing up and down the streets of Marbella, and we’re not talking just any old people!

As part of a new promotional campaign aiming to promote Marbella and reflect its renewed sense of optimism, the jewel of the Costa del Sol has put together a fun video featuring the groovy dance moves of some its well known faces.

Marbella’s mayoress Ángeles Muñoz is just one of those who demonstrates her rhythm and style while highlighting Marbella as a fantastic place to live or visit on your holidays. Some of the other recognisable groovers include Michelin star chef Dani García, former Spain number one tennis player Manolo Santana, actress and model Jacqueline de la Vega, business woman and socialite Carmen Lomana, actor Animal Soto and renowned Marbella aficionados Count Rudi von Schönberg and Princess María Luisa of Prussia, without whom any promotion of Marbella would be incomplete. One of the creators’ motives was to emphasise the friendly and welcoming nature of everyday Marbella residents, so you won’t be surprised to see the smiling faces and tapping feet of street cleaners, restaurant workers, dance troupes and even a church choir.

Social media is the driving force behind the video’s publicity and already it has been viewed 180,000 times on YouTube. It shows the town in a truly beautiful light highlighting Marbella old town, San Pedro, Puerto Banús marina and the central Alameda Park amongst views of the beach, Mediterranean and La Concha Mountain. Leisure facilities including golf courses, tennis courts, skate parks, dog parks and the beach also form the stage and background for some of the impressive (and let’s be honest, some less than impressive) dance routines.

At Bromley Estates, we think this entertaining video is a great initiative and a super way to show everyone how hard Marbella has been working to repair its reputation and refocus its vision for future growth and expansion, centring on it’s continuing popularity as one of Europe’s prime holiday and residential destinations. You can check out the video for yourself on YouTube here and share it on Facebook and Twitter using #marbellaishappy so all your friends can experience the beauty and appeal of Marbella.
