What is the history of Los Monteros?

In 1962, the iconic hotel, Los Monteros Hotel, was founded by Spanish banker Ignacio Coca, and the area instantly became a major destination. Throughout the 1960s, the hotel became a symbol of Marbella’s glamour, drawing interest from the wealthy and famous.

In 1965, Coca founded the Rio Real Golf course, which was one of the first in Marbella.

In the 1970s, the exclusive residential area with stunning villas and apartments began to take shape. Now, Los Monteros is an established residential area known for exclusivity and high-end amenities.
