Of course, larger homes and new developments – particularly those in prime locations – do come with a fairly big price tag, often valued at around €3,000,000 or more. Day-to-day bills (e.g. household utilities, tax, groceries) tend to cost less than in the UK and Europe. Puerto Banús can be split into two broad areas – north of the marina, and the marina itself

The marina is very flat and conveniently within walking distance of the bustling shopping district, making it a great option for retirees. Some people find the area a little too busy, particularly during the summer. But it’s perfect if you wish to be close to the action.

Properties here tend to be modern apartments, with unobstructed views out to sea. They’re the crème de la crème of Puerto Banús real estate. And as a result, they tend to be very expensive.

The north side is a much more residential area known as Nueva Andalucía. Apartments, villas and townhouses can all be found nestled into the mountains – some contemporary, some traditional. Located inside secure gated gardens, these typically offer residents access to shared on-site facilities (such as tennis courts, heated pools, shops etc) and tend to be better suited to families. Prices here are also a touch lower.

Located in ‘Marbella West’, Puerto Banús is just a stone’s throw away from Marbella itself.  

The distance between the two is approximately 8km. Which means you can drive and reach the city centre in as little as 7 minutes. Or if you fancy some gentle exercise, take a leisurely stroll along the seafront promenade. It’s easily walkable and the perfect way to spend a warm, sunny day.

As it’s well-connected to the coastal road, Puerto Banús is the ideal base for a property. A variety of popular resorts – including Estepona, Cabopino, Elviria, San Pedro de Alcántara and more – can all be reached in 20-30 minutes. And Málaga International Airport is just 40 minutes away by car.
