What type of properties are for sale in Marbella?

Whatever the nature of your ‘perfect’ Spanish home, we guarantee, you’ll find it in Marbella.

Marbella real estate is very varied, with a broad range of property styles and sizes for you to choose from. From palatial villas and expansive penthouse suites to traditional townhouses and apartments. Some boasting a contemporary style and fitted with start-of-the-art technology. Others authentic, with Juliet balconies and charming Andalusian features. There’s something here to suit everyone.

No matter which style you choose, one thing is guaranteed – privacy!

Most properties for sale in Marbella are situated in gated communities, surrounding by lush greenery and on-site security. They’re a haven. A place to escape and relax in peace. Yet, at the same time, they’re all perfectly positioned to take advantage of the facilities in the area.

You’ll also find a fantastic selection of commercial properties for sale in Marbella, which are an excellent base for many different types of business.

Is property in Marbella right for me?

Luxury is a big buzzword in Marbella – particularly in areas such as the Golden Mile and Puerto Banús. If you’re looking for exclusive wine bars, fine dining restaurants, high-end boutiques, world-class golf courses, you’ll be spoilt for choice and this is the perfect place to invest in a second home.

The summer months also attract a lot of tourists. Therefore, Marbella property usually offers a great return on investment – and is a popular choice amongst investors wishing to extend their portfolio.

But this is just one aspect of its character.

Above and beyond the luxury and holidaymakers, Marbella is just a beautiful place to live. Boasting 27km of sun-kissed beaches, a breathtaking backdrop of mountains, and a pretty whitewashed Old Town, it’s a truly stunning and tranquil location – with something for everyone to enjoy, young and old.

From a practical point of view, it’s also ideally situated between Malaga and Gibraltar – with two international airports just a short drive away. The cost of living is relatively low. And a range of fantastic day-to-day amenities and international schools can be found in the local area.

How much does Marbella real estate cost?

Due to the diverse range available, properties in Marbella vary greatly in terms of their cost.

Of course, the most opulent homes – including large properties and new developments in prime locations – can be found at the top of the price scale. Some are valued in excess of €10 million. And as you can expect, these are incredibly special homes that are guaranteed to take your breath away.

But there are properties available to suit all budgets. Exceptional villas, townhouses, and apartments can all bought for a reasonable price – and you certainly don’t have to be a multi-millionaire to take advantage of this amazing location and find your dream home.

Which is the best area to buy property in Marbella?

There isn’t a definitive answer to this question – it simply comes down to personal preference.

If you’re looking for an exclusive address, with access to fine dining restaurants, sophisticated bars, high-end boutiques, and world-class golf courses, either the Golden Mile or Puerto Banús are a good option. These are both stunning neighbourhoods, right at the heart of the action – and properties in these areas are perfectly located for residents to lead a relaxing and truly luxurious lifestyle.

Sierra Blanca and Nueva are very popular with those looking to relocate, particularly retirees and families. Both are incredibly beautiful and peaceful areas. Yet the vibrancy of Marbella and Puerto Banús are still just a stone’s throw away, making them an ideal compromise.

For those who wish to move to a traditional seaside resort, we highly recommend properties for sale in Cabopino. Situated in the east of Marbella, Capobino is described as the hidden jewel of the Costa del Sol – renowned for its natural beauty, sandy beaches, and authentic Spanish atmosphere.

If you’re unsure of the right location for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. We have excellent insight into these areas, as well as the properties for sale across Marbella, and we’re always happy to help. Just tell us what you have in mind and we’ll point you in the right direction.

Is property for sale in Marbella a good investment?

Yes – property in Marbella is a fantastic asset for both homeowners and rental companies.

As one of the most popular destinations for expatriates, villas, townhouses, and apartments in the area all retain their high value. In fact, prices have grown consistently year on year over the last decade. So, there’s no need to worry about putting your life savings into a home that will quickly depreciate.

During the summer months, Marbella is also a favoured tourist destination for Brits and Europeans. Which means, if you’re planning to rent the property, it can offer a very lucrative source of monthly income – with most investments seeing a sizeable annual return.

How can I find an ideal property in Marbella if I live far away?

Searching for your dream home in the sun can be a little daunting, particularly if you don’t live in the area or wish to relocate from a different country. But that’s why we’re here, to lend a helping hand.

The first step is to determine exactly what you’re looking for. Would you prefer a traditional townhouse? An expansive beachfront villa? Or perhaps a contemporary penthouse apartment? Are you looking for a resale or brand new property? Which area do you think would suit you and your family the best?

Lots of additional information can be found throughout our site, which should help you to answer these questions. Once you have a good idea of your ideal Marbella property, you can use our online search tool to discover what’s currently available and see which properties catch your eye.

Can I still buy property in Marbella post-Brexit?

UK nationals are now only entitled to stay in Spain for 90 days, in any given 180 day period. Which means, unfortunately, buying real estate in Marbella isn’t as straightforward as it used to be – but that doesn’t mean it’s impossible.

A Spanish Golden Visa can be issued to any non-EU national who intends to make a significant investment into Marbella property (worth at least €500,000). This entitles you to live and work in Spain and grants access to a range of public services – therefore offering Brits a way to overcome the obstacles created by Brexit and permanently relocate to their dream property in the Costa del Sol.

Further information on the Golden Visa, as well as ourguide to buying and selling Spanish property post-Brexit, can be found in our blog. But if you have any questions, or would like assistance with the application process, please feel free to get in touch.
