What can I expect from Mijas real estate?
Mijas real estate has something for everyone.

Away from the old town, Mijas is split into two key residential areas – former fishing village, Cala de Mijas, and Mijas Costa, a beautiful 12km stretch of the coast from El Chaparral to Calahonda.
From a practical perspective, a property in Mijas is an excellent base. The weather is glorious year-round – with hot summers and warm winters. The cost of living is also very reasonable. Málaga International Airport is just a short drive away and there are many transport links to other towns.
As a result, the area’s expat community has grown considerably in the last decade – especially with Brits in search of sun, sea and a traditional Spanish lifestyle or a second home for summer holidays.
How much does a property for sale in Mijas cost?
This varies depending on the size, style and exact location of the property.
Homes in Mijas, particularly the most luxurious villas and mansions in prime spots, are often valued at around €3-4 million or more. Yet, plenty of affordable – and stunning – villas, apartments and townhouses are also available, starting from as little as €100,000 – €200,000 in some cases.
There’s also lots of opportunity for residential development, with many plots of land currently for sale throughout the area. These can range from €100,000 to €10+ million depending on the size.
It’s worth noting, compared to other nearby resorts – such as Marbella and Puerto Banús – property for sale in Mijas Pueblo, Mijas Costa and La Cala de Mijas all offer exceptional value. You can certainly get a lot more for the same amount of money, and there’s a home here to suit most budgets.
