Setting

Guadalmina is an upmarket beachside community. Part of the San Pedro District of Marbella, it straddles the main coastal road and is divided into Guadalmina Alta and Guadalmina Baja.

Both sides are 15 minutes east of Estepona, 10 minutes away from Marbella’s Puerto Banús, and even closer to the charming neighbourhood of San Pedro de Alcántara. As such, Guadalmina is an ideal middle ground – close enough to enjoy the exclusive shops and famous nightlife, yet far enough away to enjoy peaceful surroundings and lead a laid-back Spanish way of life.

 

Characteristics

This is a resort of two halves.

Guadalmina Alta is well-established and home to a small commercial centre. Here you can find a good selection of amenities, including a supermarket, several banks and a fantastic choice of shops, bars and restaurants. Residents can also take advantage of the well-known San Pedro Golf Club.

Guadalmina Baja, by contrast, is the beachside part of the resort – offering a long stretch of soft golden sand, stylish frontline bars and restaurants, and lots of beachside activities. Parque de las Medranas is also just a stone’s through away. This is a great spot for nature-lovers and adrenaline seekers alike, featuring a beautiful lake, as well as a ski and wakeboarding centre.

Whichever side you choose, you can expect to enjoy a sub-tropical climate – with temperatures averaging around 32°C in the summer months and a cooling breeze from the Mediterranean sea.

Guadalmina properties are the perfect option for couples who want the best of both worlds. Ideally located to enjoy a blissful, relaxed lifestyle – with golf courses, stunning walking routes and magnificent beaches all on the doorstep. Yet close enough to Marbella and Puerto Banús for an evening out too.

It’s also a fantastic area for families. With a range of 5* amenities in the vicinity and good international schools nearby, it’s somewhere to give children an excellent quality of life.

Built in the 1960s, many have a unique ‘art nouveau’ style that will truly take your breath away. But there are lots of contemporary apartments and mansions too.
