Discover Marbella’s out of season magic
For many people, owning their own slice of prime Marbella real estate gives them the freedom to discover the delights of Marbella, any time of year. The joy of being able to hop on a plane and leave the dreary weather behind is intoxicating in itself, even without the added bonus of finding that Marbella is just as exciting out of season as it is at the height of summer.
So what does Marbella offer in the winter?
The answer first and foremost is the weather. Marbella is one of the most popular winter sunshine break destinations in the world, with a much milder climate than the rest of Europe (around 23˚C) and up to 9 hours of sunshine per day. Although not as sizzling hot as in the summer and a little cooler at night, the weather is still extremely pleasant, warm and relaxing.
The famed microclimate means that famed healthy outdoor lifestyle Marbella lifestyle continues throughout the year. Healthy pursuits such as cycling, running, skating, sailing, golf, tennis and hiking are all on offer, along with a plethora of gyms and Spas, allowing you to have fun, stay healthy, get fit and look great throughout the winter months. Alternatively, if you prefer to take care of your mind and body with Yoga or Pilates, there are many centres in Marbella and the neighbouring towns.
Leave airport queues behind
Summer holidays are great but the trade-off can be long queues at the airport. What better start to your trip than breezing through the airport without delay.
Save money
One of the wonderful benefits of finding the perfect villa for sale in Marbella or even a bank owned golf apartment in Benalmadena, is that when you own your own property on the Costa del Sol, you can take advantage of the incredibly cheap flight prices. There is no need to book your accommodation – you own it. Simply snap up a flight ticket, hop on board and within a matter of hours you can be soaking up the sunshine.
Visit attractions at your leisure
Even better, you can finally get to visit the Costa del Sol’s tourist attractions without any queues, which means you and your family can get the most out of your trip without being hurried. You can explore nearby towns and white villages, visit local landmarks and discover the many different beaches and coves dotted along the coastline at your leisure.
It’s also a good opportunity to get to know your local area; take the time to wander around the town, promenade along the Paseo Maritimo or a day at the beach without the crowds.
Family friendly activities
Even if you own a luxury beachside villa in Marbella, out of season you may be more tempted to head a little further afield. There are plenty of attractions that you could try, such as the Mayan Monkey Chocolate Factory Mijas. Who wouldn’t want to learn how to make chocolate and ice cream?
There is also the option of heading to nearby Fuengirola to visit the Bio Parc. The former zoo has been taken over and transformed to provide a home to many endangered species in keeping with their natural surroundings. The animals are happy and healthy and the landscaped jungle surroundings make for a fun family day out.
Skiing in southern Spain
Then of course there is the option to go skiing at the Sol y Nieve ski station in Sierra Nevada located just above Granada. Where else could you be in the morning and back on the coast in time to enjoy some afternoon sunshine, before heading out at night.
Find the perfect property on the Costa del Sol
Autumn and winter is also a good time to view property for sale in Marbella. You get to see what the neighbourhood is like out of season and to explore the surroundings without the summer crowds.
