What can I expect from a property in Manilva?

Manilva itself can be divided into three separate areas.

Manilva Pueblo, a traditional whitewashed village set on a slight rise – just a few kilometres inland. San Luis de Sabinillas (aka. Sabinillas), a classic fishing village situated alongside the coast, and just to the west of Sabinillas, La Duquesa, a charming yachting marina with lots of bars and restaurants.

As such, Manilva real estate is very diverse – including everything from quaint townhouses hidden on narrow cobbled streets to frontline golf villas and high-spec apartments in luxury 5* complexes.

There’s something here to suit most tastes, requirements and budgets.

Whichever area you choose and whether you’re looking for a new build or re-sale property, one thing is for certain. You’ll find a refreshing lack of skyscrapers and high-rise buildings. To retain its ‘small village’ atmosphere, Manilva has opted out of excessive development. Homes here all tend to be low-rise and whitewashed – designed to blend in with the stunning natural surroundings.

They also share one major benefit. An enviable location – immediately surrounded by peace and quiet, whilst still being just 20-30 minutes from Sotogrande, Estepona and Marbella.

Would a property for sale in Manilva suit me?

Manilva is a very beautiful place to live.

Famous for its sweet wine orchards, it’s surrounded by the beauty of lush vineyards and rolling countryside – and characterised by its whitewashed streets, breathtaking views across the Mediterranean Sea and long, peaceful beaches that are dotted with delicious chiringuitos.

This is an authentic village with Andalusia at its heart. It remains surprisingly quiet and uncrowded even during the summer months. Thanks to its delightfully real atmosphere and year-round sub-tropical climate, it’s the perfect place to relax and while away the days – soaking up the traditional culture and making the most of the tranquillity.

Yet, that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything to see or do.

The two nearby fishing villages – Sabinillas and La Duquesa – are a hub of enjoyment for boating enthusiasts, as well as those interested in boating and fishing trips, plus water activities such as wakeboarding and scuba diving. Here you’ll also find lots of intimate bars, cafes and restaurants.

The area is home to a high density of golf courses, including La Duquesa Golf Country Club, Almenara Golf Club in Sotogrande, and Dona Julia Golf Club in Casares – to name just a few.

Plus, with tourist hotspots such as Estepona and Marbella close by, a wide range of other 5* facilities – including bars, restaurants, beach clubs, boutiques etc. – are all within easy reach.

From a practical perspective, the village also benefits from all the day-to-day amenities you could possibly need. Properties in Manilva are typically within walking distance of shops and supermarkets. Whilst medical clinics, hospitals, dental practices, private schools and the international airports of both Málaga and Gibraltar are all just a short drive away.

Manilva particularly appeals to those looking for a summer holiday home – the perfect calming oasis to enjoy sunny days at the beach, whilst being close enough to the vibrancy of the bigger towns. It’s also a popular choice for those looking to retire, who wish to enjoy a taste of true Spanish life.

Is real estate in Manilva expensive?

Properties for sale in Manilva vary in price depending on their size, style and location.

If you’re searching for a home that’s grand and opulent, the area certainly won’t disappoint. You’ll find plenty of luxury options – including stunning houses with 6+ bedrooms and spacious villas with private swimming pools, which are typically valued around the €1-2 million mark.

However, this is certainly not the only option. Many beautiful townhouses, villas and apartments can also be found in excellent locations, often starting from as little as €100,000 – 200,000.

It’s also important to note, prices here are much lower than those in popular neighbouring towns, such as Marbella. Most people are able to find a home in Manilva that ticks every box on their wish list, whilst also sticking to their budget – and you’re sure to get a lot more for your money.

If you think this could be the ideal area for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
