Marbella International Film Festival 2017

If you love films then the Marbella International Film Festival could be just the ticket. Running for its 12th year now the festival brings together artists and their films from around the globe for recognition.

The Festival has expanded considerably since its launch in 2006 and has collaboration and association with Marbella Town Hall and Tourist Board, Marbella Film Office and the Andalucia Film Commission. During the Festival five glamorous evening events are hosted culminating in the grand Gala Awards Ceremony.

This year the festival is on 4-8 October and is a fantastic springboard for up and coming talent whether it be film or documentary with days of film screenings, music, dance and art exhibitions. It is during this time that many budding artists are provided the opportunity to rub shoulders with financers, sponsors and entrepreneurs that could be just what they need to get their project off the ground.

The event has become an integral part of the region and it enjoys the support of the Andalucian Government as well as many other local businesses. Take a look at some of last year’s winners here.

The festival is the flagship project of the New World Trust. The objective of the trust is to provide start-up capital for independent art projects, offering hands on support in all commercial aspects. The support system includes assistance in marketing, project and financial management, business angles, agents and distribution networking, and trying to overcome any other obstacles which potentially hinder the artist’s ability to create.

Marbella is a big draw for many investors from around the globe due to its fabulous property, temperate climate and wonderful outdoors lifestyle. Many with investment potential have homes here in Spain and of course with the new port being planned in Malaga there will be space to dock that mega yacht!
