Marbella Old Town
So you’ve heard the hype around the Golden Mile but what about Marbella Old Town? Not so much? We thought not. Here at Bromley Estates, we adore this place. Marking one end of the popular Golden Mile stretch, this charming area generates less publicity but, we think you’ll agree, is a key reason a home along the Golden Mile really does offer it all.
Providing a different tempo with its cobbled squares and narrow twisting streets, Marbella Old Town is every inch as glamorous but with a more traditional Andalusian feel. Whitewashed buildings, laden with sweet smelling bougainvillea, invite you to immerse yourself in its quaint charm.
Plaza de los Naranjos (Orange Square) marks the centre and, as the name suggests, here you’ll find fragrant orange trees shading a plethora of street cafes. A great place to relax with a coffee, whilst watching the world go by.
Ambling around the many paths is the best way to explore – but you’ll find the tourist office housed inside the Town Hall if needed. Around most corners you’ll find chic boutiques, cafes and restaurants tucked away like hidden treasure. Every taste is catered for, from traditional tapas to gourmet cuisine.
Buildings mostly remain in their original layout which dates right back to the 16th century. You can even see evidence of the Arab Castle and ancient wall that once protected this area. For more culture head to the Engraving Museum, which houses works from Picasso and Joan Miro.
With so much variety, it’s little surprise that property along the Golden Mile is highly sought after. Buying here puts all this, along with the Golden Mile’s glamorous nightlife, right at your fingertips and, here at Bromley Estates, we are delighted to have a range of luxury properties available in this coveted area.
