Sophisticated Sotogrande

Sotogrande is an exclusive resort and is home to some of the most powerful and wealthy families of both Spain and the United Kingdom. In this area, you will see some stunning natural beauty where cyclists, walkers and hikers can explore. The marina is brimming with stunning yachts during the summer time as visitors dock here to enjoy all that Spain in famous for.

Despite not forming part of the resort’s original development the marina now boasts a total of 1,382 berths and some of the steepest mooring costs in Europe. Elegant waterside apartments and multi-coloured townhouses cluster around the marina while the quayside promenade features high end gastronomic dining and fashionable boutique shopping.
The floating palaces parked up here have included ones owned by Top Gear co-host Eddie Jordan, Santander Bank president Emilio Botin and Bourbon prince Louis Alphonse. Located at the eastern entrance to the Strait of Gibraltar, this ‘millionaire’s playground’ has become a mandatory stop for any vessel starting its stay in the Mediterranean.

It is during these summer months that Sotogrande springs to life with international polo being a draw for many international visitors. August is the month when Santa María Polo Club becomes home to the most important social and sports gathering on the Costa del Sol; the International Polo Tournament.

Enjoy a round of golf at the exclusive San Roque Club. The San Roque Club offers all the facilities you’d expect of the finest and most exclusive meeting place on the Costa del Sol. The two contrasting golf courses are as challenging as they are beautiful and away from the greens, four very different restaurants serve up a stunning array of high-class cuisine, from Japanese to tapas. The equestrian centre’s top class facilities appeal to everyone from novices to experts, and if a more relaxing visit appeals, the terraces, the heated pool or beauty and therapeutic treatments are among the facilities members enjoy.

It’s more than all this though – there is a real air of exclusivity about Sotogrande. It has its own Ferrari dealership and a helipad too. It is geared up for the rich and famous to visit and they do.

If you are in the market for a stunning property in Sotogrande then you will find a level of affordable luxury in here. 30 minutes away from the hustle and bustle of Marbella and Puerto Banus, you can reach the lovely VAT free island of Gibraltar in 15 minutes.
